How Do I Listen To East Lothian FM

On Our Website

The easiest way is to click on the BIG LISTEN NOW BUTTON to the top – left of this page. Clicking the button opens either a pop-up window or a new tab depending on your browser settings. The radio stream should start playing automatically. The player has a button to stop / start play and a slider to change the volume.

These buttons link to playlist files. Click on the Icon for the player you want to use (WMP, Quickyime, Real Player or Winamp), you can then either use the player to open the file directly or download the file first and open it with your player. East Lothian FM will then play through your chosen computer program.

Download Our Desktop Player

ELFM Flash PlayerOur friends at Crystals Ltd in Haddington made us a Desktop Flash Player. To use, click the red Flash icon (left) and download the player. The file is “Zipped” to make it smaller, so right click the icon and extract the player. Then just click on the icons. Once it’s open, click on the Play Icon.

General FAQ's

Who Regulates Radio In The UK?

Internet Radio is not regulated. In the UK it is necessary for a station playing recorded music to purchase two licenses; PPL and PRS. These licenses are slightly different but essentially they make sure that the artists that created the music we play get paid for doing so. We can provide details of our licenses if required.

Stations that broadcast radio on FM / AM, via a digital set top box or DAB are regulated by Ofcom. They are granted a license to broadcast and must abide by the broadcasting code to retain their license. Although East Lothian FM is currently an online station, we believe that the code is a very good guide to the standards we should be working to.
